The bulk of this army are 15mm Essex figures professionally painted to a very high standard by a gentleman who sadly had to stop painting due to ill health. I had this army painted about 1998, and then incorporated the remnants of my old Gladiator Seljuk Turkish army.
Under DBA/DBM none of these troops can shoot! Under Armati they are a very effective army, though individually nothing special, the massed firepower of this army takes some serious stopping.

Added these two pics in April 2003. Taken with Digital Nikon 995 tried compositing multiple shots with different focus points and then blending them. OK though not as good as I had hoped!

Couple of new digital pics up close. This time no compositing, just 1 shot. Shame really as the gunners face is blurred. Doesn't the artillery look good though!

Janissaries, my favourites! |

Ottoman Turk heavy cavalry, Essex 15mm, professionally painted, with Akinji's on the flanks. (Photo Cannon EOS lens unsure? 200ASA)

Supporting Akinji light cavalry and subject Serbian knights. (Serbian Knights are not allowed officially in the Armati rules) |

Cheapy Ottoman foot bow, very useful troops in Armatti, they add to the already substantial cavalry firepower, and are protected by all your cavalry |
|
|
Light Ottoman horse archers backed up by heavy Spahis, mostly essex 15mm figures not painted by me. (Fuji Reala film and EOS 300mm) |

Heavy Ottoman cavalry of various sorts
Similar pic but taken with the digital camera. Better isn't it!

Excellent shot of the 15mm Essex Spahis running down the pathetic Hungarians, in Armati the Ottomans are a very serious foe. |

|
Ottoman command element (2 figures for Armati) supported by Spahis |
|
|
Infantry line of Janissary archers and crappy militia foot (nice shields!) |
